Dec 16, 2020. #2. I'm pretty sure you need the Cellular model with GPS for navigation. Wi-Fi triangulation isn't accurate enough and the iPad doesn't get GPS coordinates from the iPhone. For what it's worth, GPS doesn't use a ton of data so you can get a less expensive plan for this (e.g. T-Mobile $10/5 GB/150 days).

4. Upgrade or reinstall Waze. If the issue persists, try to uninstall the Waze app. Reinstalling the app will fix any file corruption that is creating issues with the app. From the home screen, tap and hold on to the Waze app icon.
